Default Montgomery County Fire Rescue: Who/what is "UNIT 100"

This morning at approx. 0735 I heard units responding to an accident about Montgomery Village Ave. and one of them was "UNIT 100".

When they were on scene, "UNIT 100" advised MONTGOMERY that they would be transporting patient to (forgot the hospital) and gave ALS Cat. C (or similar) and then when he cleared said he'd be switching back to 7-Alpha.

I've heard of CAR XXX but never "UNIT xxx"

Anyone know who or what 'unit' that would be?

Thanks,

Jay
