Is it safe to assume there is some logic in the TG numbering scheme? Using Pro96Com on the Anne Arundel site I've got an affiliation for TG 7301? Since the MSP M barrack TG ID's are 73XX, can I assume this was an MSP radio. Also the radiio ID was 212XXXX and all the MdTA units appear to be 211XXXX radio ID's.

Hard to say at this point. Some of the TGIDs have a pattern but others don't yet make sense to me.

The fleetmap example in some of the documents I've seen (links are in this thread) have things jumping around and are incomplete (full buildout is years away - I wonder if they've planned the whole thing out to the last phase?)

Interestingly, BWI Airport reappeared for most of the day today (0930 ->) -- haven't heard 'em in almost a month.... All radio IDs the same....

One hit on BWI "Tac" -- radio maint test count - different radio ID from BWI Ops TG

TGs and RIDs for main mandatory system users were almost certainly mapped as soon as this program became a project reality: in case this has not already been noticed, all RIDs and TGIDs for this entire region on every single P25 system have been interlaced so that no adjoining or overlapping systems have any chance of duplicate TGIDs or RIDs (interestingly this includes non-native P25 users like Howard County FD units in Baltimore County for example). Yes, there is a logical order to TGIDs. I would guess 7301 to be Northern Troop A, but that is only an educated guess based on MSP TGs seen already and Mr. Lehr's Prezi fleetmaps. The 212XXXX RID also suggests MSP usage, though that sequence may be used by other agencies as well.

I just noticed this on the Fred Co P25 page:

Misc System Information

This is the new Frederick County Public Services Project 25 TRS. This new digital radio system will replace the old Motorola Type-II legacy system that has been in place for many years. The new P-25 TRS will become full operational on September 12, 2012 at 1000 hours. At that time, all of the subcribers on the old system will move to this new radio system. Once the cutover is completed, the old Type-II TRS will be deactivated. In addition, this system will be integrated into the Maryland FIRST Network in the future.

I do recall reading some state 700mhz project office documents from back in 2010/2011, suggesting that newer county systems (such as Frederick P25) could be fully integrated into the statewide system......so maybe the Frederick P25 system would eventually just become the "statewide system" for that area..........essentially making the state's system a combination of 700 and 800mhz freqs. Or maybe the Frederick freqs at that point would be swapped for 700mhz freqs?? MSP already shares use of the Frederick system....and I think SHA does, as well. I don't understand the technical aspects of things, but maybe it's just a matter of installing the appropriate microwave links/controllers to fully tether Frederick Co P25 to the remainder of the state (once the Western MD phase is live)? From everything I've read, this has all be extremely well choreographed....and it is worth noting that initial planning for this dates way back to the latter portion of Governor Ehrlich's tenure.

You may be right -- unless someone "in the know" wants to chime in and add details, I guess we'll find out at some point in the future.... (nudge, nudge)....

Perhaps it'll be like a rebanding - one day they're on the 800 Mhz frequencies and suddenly they'll shift onto Md FiRST 700 frequencies and the towers will be absorbed into the Maryland system.

Anyone in range of the Kent site? Kent police dispatch advised units to only call out traffic stops on the digital 700 system.

And one other thing RE Kent. With a new system set up as just the Kent site with all freqs (not just listed CC freqs) on it, I can get nearly full RSSI at the top of my building, but no control channel. Any other freqs they could be using in the Kent site?

Good question, Dpcain. This past weekend, I was getting outstanding/seamless reception while inside Kent County - using the radio with only the 2 known CCs (as cited in our DB) programmed in. What part of this area is your office located in?

Just getting a chance to listen to the Kent audio on RR for the first time today and it appears PD are back on VHF.... ???

Been picking up some LEO traffic today on TG 12811 from the Queen Anne site.
Unit designations mentioned include C-64, K-9, K-11, K-15, K-18 & Kent dispatch.

Sounds like a Kent County sheriff dept dispatch channel - most of the calls were typical traffic-stop related checks.

C-units are likely Chestertown PD
K-units Kent County Sheriff Dept

As an aside, on 11/29 I recorded a radio maintenance call for "Kent Aviation 4" (TG 26608) on the Mid Shore Consortium system. Seems like Kent might be getting set up in both FIRST and UMESC?

12811 -- that matches what I've seen in the past during setup/testing.... They must be using "routine" activity (like 28 and 29 checks) for getting comfortable with the system.

It interesting that they are coming up on the QA site.... probably some Bay Bridge users listening in...
