That's when you see the OTHER radio in the vehicle getting used more heavily..

I have a PSR800 and didn't have the freqs in-hand (I was mobile) or I would have tried to figure out which one it was- it wasn't a control channel, but was near full RSSI both times. So, it appears unless my scanner was talking to itself, they've installed something using a non-control channel that has a coexisting frequency with another site (though I don't know which).
If anybody lives around these areas, heads up, you might hear or see some stuff happening around now with a good antenna and a good nose.
NOTE: I don't know if the 800 won't show RSSI belonging to things not identifying as sys 4A2 or with NAC 4A1, but I can confirm that it's not a freq from DELWIN- none of the Sussex freqs from that system overlap with FiRST freqs.

I'm just back from a trip to the Eastern Shore - down as far as Berlin (Rt 50 and Rt 346)... I didn't detect a peep the entire trip from Wye Mills down - not of the freqs listed in CAPRAD for Maryland FiRST or a search across 769-775 Mhz....

Found those too. No infrastructure online- I was in OC this weekend and left my radio dumping to Unitrunker while I was mobile the whole way with those sites added in to FiRST, not a peep yet (to steal the word).

SHA/MDOT units up on TGID 8114 this morning right at 0500 which they last week identified as MD TAC 1.
Believe this is for today's events in DC - it'll be curious to see how it's used since the system (as far as we know) isn't built out down that way...
EDIT @ 0610 - reference to "Command Post College Park Barrack" as units check in....(could be a patch)

Not much activity on 8114 today but I guess I expected that. More activity on 8561 on the AA Site but I have to say I'm pretty irritated/unhappy with the reception I'm getting on the AA site over the past few days including today (and I'm sitting in the middle of AA County -- but that may be the problem). Lighter amount of (non-standard) activity on the Baltimore site today and I'm receiving that perfectly (probably because I'm only picking up a single transmitter site in south Baltimore).

Maryland FIRST 700mhz system
This system has been coming on line for about 2 months now, Can only be recieved with the PSR800 using the Version 1.8 firmware and 1.3 DSP upgrade, I travel for work all around the state and have recieved strong voice all up and down I95 from Deleware to Capital beltway, and I-70 up to Frederick.
Radioreference database lists the talkgroups currently online with new ones added every few days it seems.
Currently mostly MTA Port police, JFk Highway MSP and the Toll bridges and tunnels Police.
kent County has a group of talkgroups too, I have heard a little traffic on them but not much.

Picked up a couple of hits on 8114 today around 18:08. Nothing I could readily identify:- one unit said something about the "SOC" and another responded.
Prior to that the only thing I've seen recorded was one hit on 7171 from 1/19 around 18:33. Again hard to identify and agency, but the dispatcher did ask "SOD 13" (?) to "check their display", which typically seems to mean someone accidentally pressed their emergency button.
Note: traffic was heard/recorded in Oxford from the Queen Anne site.

71xx is typically MdTA, and SOD 13 is an MdTA Special Operations car. Not that I've seen anything as high in that range as 7171..

I see many hits on IDs where I think the units are on the wrong talkgroup -- just need to figure out what those talkgroups are.
A couple of recent hits on TGID 8564 lead me to believe this TG belongs to MIEMSS....

There was some activity on 1/21 on Talkgroup 7133. Seemed like a police talkgroup maybe a talk-around or tac channel.

Based on a powerpoint I can't get to anymore, I believe that's the tactical channel of the Aggressive Driving Unit (MDTAP ADU TAC). Haven't submitted it yet because I haven't confirmed that as its use- haven't heard any unit IDs there yet..

Not sure what the TG name is but it sounded like units today were doing tag scans (suspensions, etc.). Activity was 0930-1230. White Marsh and (exit?) 11B was mentioned ; also CAPWIN ( Capital Wireless Information Net, University of Maryland)
There were two units - a monitor unit and a chase unit - IDs 2116933 (Wiki says "CV7") and 2117251 (Wiki says "CV8") - but they weren't focused on commercial vehicles.
Definitely MdTA (probably "Port") units.
Other radio IDs seen on this TG in the past include:
2117021
2116990 (wiki: SOD8)
2116893
Some other early conversations caught were between HQ40 (or 44) and SOD1.... other conversations mentioned "SOD OPS" (the possible TG name) and that SOD "CRU" didn't have a TAC channel ---
Believe this TG was used during the investigation of the head-on crash on I-695 (in Curtis Bay) around Thanksgiving.

Units using TGID 8115 this morning - "Command Post" and 940x unit ids patrolling the Anne Arundel area (Rt 2, Rt 50, I-97) near the Polar Bear Plunge - sounds like traffic units (SHA? MDOT?).

Units on 8115 (referred to as "CHART units") recalled back to the command bus around 1550 on Saturday and activity ended.

Seeing some activity on yet another TGID (first seen 1/17) -- 8120 - with radio IDs 216xxxx ... I don't recall seeing that range until today.

Hmmm, that's a weird number set: I've logged USNA PD units on the JNCR system as 215xxxx and USNA Communications in 217xxxx, so that's right in between the 7 digit ID sets I've seen on there.

I could have been mistaken but pretty dead certain that I saw a list of radio ID ranges to be used statewide with county/city/jurisdictions in one of those publicly available Maryland SCIP documents many months ago. If anyone came across it that would be a great help in identifying some of the talkgroup usages.
