There's activity once you get to the Queen Anne's site and north (Kent and Cecil). That activity has been there for a year. You'll find activity all the way around the Bay from the Bay Bridge to Cecil County.

Any chance Cecil County will be on FiRST?

No. They're on their own system that you can't monitor - only VHF dispatch frequencies and what they have patched. The Cecil site mostly just has MSP and MdTA police.

What I meant was, by the time I'm up there, do you think Cecil would be transitioning over to or testing their equipment ?

I wouldn't expecting too much in the way of change in that area in the near future - seems like the focus is on the mid/lower shore right now since that just built out and was the rollout area for 2013. But you never know - there's seems to be new testing all the time.

At the present time there are not any local governments actively transitioning or publicly planning a transition to FiRST with the exception of Kent County. Most counties that are not already P25 are planning in-place upgrades to P25 within their current systems.

First time I've seen that map - nice find. Would be hard for to do right now for FiRST - at least for the entire State since the system is't fully built out yet. Maybe Radio Reference can move towards that map.

In the mean time, for those FiRST sites with actual FCC licenses (using more than the State license), you can see a similar mapping/plot through Radio Reference one site at a time. Here's an example:

WQOV744 (MARYLAND, STATE OF - DEPT. OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY) FCC Callsign Details

I think this is plotting the location data listed on the FCC license:

ULS License - Trunked Public Safety 700 MHz License - WQOV744 - MARYLAND, STATE OF - DEPT. OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY - Locations Summary

It looks as if it can be added to as it goes by whomever created it in the first place but not entirely sure about how all that works

Short daytrip to Ocean City/Assateague on Monday. I wasn’t expecting activity and I was right, nothing on Talbot, Dorchester, Wicomico, or Worchester sites. The patch was up on the OC Site.

I'm thinking most prep shut down for the holidays a few weeks ago. With the holidays over, perhaps more activity (testing, cut overs?) will occur next week....

we definitely have interop issues down here, esp wi Trooper 4 (MSP Helo).
Somerset County uses Edacs, which as we all probly know is being phased out. I still don't know what new system will come. SoCo Sherrif uses Provoice (boo) and hopefully the new stuff will be scannable.
No idea of timetable.

I would suspect that Somerset, Worcester, and OC will all end up upgrading their EDACS systems to Harris P25... All New Worcester radios being ordered have both EDACSand P25 trunking.

It was removed by request of the owner. I sent you an email yesterday about it.

Site 309 has popped up at Anne Arundel site as a new peer site. currently showing 774.54375 as the control channel and not connected to Site 102 (Anne Arundel)

First sign of Phase 3 sites!?

Queen Anne's

The QA site (105) has been broadcasting 309 on the shore side for some time now (not connected).

Wonder when that change occurred and when we might hear things "over there" now that it seems to be connected.....

Makes sense for it to be RFSS 3 given that it's an eastern shore net. Anyone know if Kent has switched to an RFSS 3 site ID?
