Reception of the Baltimore site here is unusually poor also - however, MDE units approaching/on the Bay Bridge seem to be getting out just fine (I assume hitting the Queen Annes site?). Hell, from there they could be hitting any number of sites.

Maybe they switched control channels? I only have the primary and secondary programmed.

I've checked all frequencies for the site - there is energy (5 solid bars of signal) on all 6 frequencies and a NAC of 4A2 -- perhaps the site is in "failsoft" or whatever the P25 equivalent of that is....

Weird, I just heard an L unit on the Anne Arundel site on my 436, but the PSR800 still shows no activity on the "published" CC.

Update 1: Oops, I take that back - I have a CC now on the PSR800.

Update 2: But I'm not seeing any data on Pro96Com or Unitrunker

Watching the site frequencies, it looked like the CC was trying to come up. I heard an L unit also and thought it was weird. Looked like the site came up on the backup CC and then quickly switched over to the primary/normal frequency. Could be because the system was coming backup and the primary CC frequency was in use at that moment and the site switch as soon as it was clear - but just a guess.

EDIT: and the Baltimore site is showing current, connected once again for site 102.

There was a truck fire on the Bay bridge yesterday, which closed the east bound span for hours. I wonder if increased radio traffic, or maybe some emergency configuration made to the system to manage the incident caused the failure?

Probably not but you never know. That was actually the incident that caused me to go try and listen to MdTA at the bridge. My guess - we'll never know and I suspect the position is the system functioned just as it was designed -- I'm pretty sure the system went into failsoft where didn't talkgroups/users were assigned a fixed frequency/slot... trouble is, scanners don't handle TDMA as conventional (to my knowledge).

TDMA isn't actually a P25 conventional option (due to the master time sync required) and cannot even be programmed into the APX radios, so you're dead right- failsoft should also trigger a revert of all allowed failsoft nets to FDMA.

Best I could tell, they didn't go to Phase 1

Yup, something for DPSCS

7857- "P34 to Baltimore"
Maryland Capitol Police, possibly B34, one of the Baltimore detachment units? Unknown net name/use though.

8568- RID: 21256xx
Net is FIRST EIGHT, and that's a PMO Testing Team radio.
Hope that helps!
