Hey all,

I've seen official rumors that Maryland is working on a statewide digital TRS termed a 'first responders' net:
700 MHz System

As it says, Motorola was given a notice to proceed back in 2010.. anybody have any idea how far along they are with this project (at least in service region 1A) or any further information?

Actually at least in central Maryland, PG county has the distinction of having the first 700 mhz trunk system...

and as for the so-called statewide system, I haven't heard anything in a long time on this subject. Not surprising, with the budget shortfall...best regards...Mike

The state has put up a half dozen or so towers in southern Maryland and have mounted some yagi's on them but that is all the progress that I have seen so far.

That's outstanding, good step-up from the VHFL clunker system MSP is on right now- and that presentation shows the timescale pretty well. Thanks CqDx.

Is this Statewide TRS going to replace some of the older county TRSs or will it just co-exist with them?

Also is the SW TRS going to be P25 phase 1 or 2?

Looks like it's designed to co-exist unless the county wants to jump entirely on board- looks very county-governance hold-hand-y.

Phase Two, confirmed thru state documents and Motorola promo material. Moto is really using this as an example of their first big Phase 2 project.

Are these 700mhz trunked county licenses part of the statewide system? They are in the Region 1 area of the FIRST project.

Must be some signal testing... keep us updated as to when you start hearing voice.

What software are you using to log?

No software..Just watching ID's come and go on CC freq 773.3125

They almost seem to be changing ranges every 20 min or so.

First was 47*** then 59*** now 35*** Must be random testing.
Will keep watching for pattern and limit search for voice coms from time to time.

Cecil County is part of the Region1a phase 700 deployment with the funding and Kent County
Will be nice for local MSP to finally get off the low band radios.

Tonight midnight CC is so strong can receive CC without any antenna on Pro-96..
Wondering since no cell phone interference like 800 band they can up the wattage or just
cleaner 700 band is the difference.
