Yeah...and I'm so over alpha tags that contain the county/system abbreviation as part of the alpha tag, wasting two or more characters on my display. I can name the scan list/bank whatever I want, to include the name of the system, why do I also need the system/county name embeddded in all the alpha tags?

I understand that might be a holdover from the old days when you couldn't name banks/scan lists manually, but I think we've gotten past that...

Troy, I think your merge cleaned things up somewhat, but I agree that the FCC and RR tower site info isn't jiving. I left Unitrunker parked on 771.60625 (while NOT acting as a CC) unattended just to see what I could collect. It looks like things are shaping up closer to what you have in the RRDB now.

I've been recording CMARC since New Year's day. Nearly all activity is on TG11796. I wonder how much 70 gal of JET A will set you back?) There were a couple of brief calls to Baltimore County on 11795 as well two unintelligible transmissions on TG38(?????)

According to their website (Martin State Airport (KMTN) Website Home), it comes to $405.30.

I'm just back from a trip but I left a radio monitoring CMARC since I left on the 2nd...

Majority of activity was 11775 (another Martin or Port Ops TG?) and 11776 (I assume fuel trucks - I didn't listen this time).

It appears that there was one attempt (at least that I captured) of a roll call comms test for the Mutual Aid Coordination talkgroup (11795) in the 1000 hour on 1/2 -- but there didn't seem to be alot of "communicating" going on - at least not from what I could hear. Originally sounded like only Baltimore County (running as the control) and Howard County were active.

The roll call included Anne Arundel County, MSP Glen Burnie, MSP Waterloo, MSP UMAB, Baltimore City PD, MSP Golden Ring, Howard County, MSP Pikesville - the only one I heard answer was Howard.... and I didn't detect a call to Harford County but the scanner was also monitoring Anne Arundel Fire so it's possible I missed some activity. All in all in didn't seem like there was alot of "communicating" going on during the test. (Note: I think I read somewhere that CMARC M/A is only expected to "test" once a month....)

Later (1/7 or 1/8?) it sounded like Baltimore City came on line and did some test calls and on 1/9 is sounded like Baltimore City PD "Citywide" was patched into the talkgroup for a time..

At 10:59 AM on 1/9/13, a dispatcher on the CMARC Mutual Aid TG identified herself as :"City-Wide Dispatcher."

Finally heard a good comms check/roll call last night (1/11) around 1950 (odd time?) and again at about 0320 this morning on the CMARC Mutual Aid Coordination talkgroup. The recording is a bit fuzzy but it sounded like they referred to it as the "MASS" or "MAC" radio test.

Baltimore County called as control and got responses from Baltimore City, Harford County, and Howard County.

Interesting that there were no other calls (i.e. Anne Arundel, etc.)

Also - Baltimore City called around 2130 asking if any jurisdiction had aviation up at the time (didn't hear any responses).

"MAC" Test ongoing again at this time -- test times seem to be totally random -- no wonder they don't always get a response!

I guess they are trying to make sure the dispatch centers are really listening at all times rather than just when a scheduled test is to be conducted.....

I was under the impression that the system(s) would have data-carrying capability...not sure if that justified the expense, though.

154.280 is still going to be used for Fire/EMS.....this new CMARC talk group of Mutual Aid Coordination is a Law Enforcement driven tool. also, it replaces the 460.050 "Metro" law enforcement Mutual Aid channel that was used in the Baltimore region. I have never heard anything on 155.475 in this region. I do not know of any agencies in this area other than MSP that are licensed for it. I know Anne Arundel is not.

Seems pretty obvious that CMARC should be become obsolete and folded into the Maryland FiRST system once it's built out. I believe that is what the plans are stating.

CMARC just got an early start.

Still been hearing County roll call/test at least once a day on the Mutual Aid Coordination talkgroup but only Baltimore County, Baltimore City, Harford, and Howard Counties.... no Carroll or Anne Arundel.

Tonight there was some testing around 1800 (6pm) on TGID 11732 which was then followed by possibly a patch from Carroll County fire dispatch... Maybe Carroll is about ready to play...

Speaking of weird test hours on 11776 MAC Channel, I caught a transmission at 0258 with a roll call from Baltimore County to City and Howard. Only Howard responded.

Also Paramedic 146 to Caroll County on 11732, it *sounded* like a patch but I'm not sure.
