1549z 228.0 Pack 11 (NH KC-135R) air refueling 4xF-16 from Atlantic City
callsigns Banger and Devil 11. This must be a radom AR as 228.0
is primary for AR-777. Way to far north for me hear.

After AR They were doing CAS training in Vienna MD (R-4006).
BayWatch 264.55 They were busy yesterday doing CAS training.
Sounds like they have a Forward Air Controller on the ground there.

1650z RTB to Atlantic City

Great stuff, Kyle! I've heard Axeman before, and Cowboy too (I think that's a newer callsign)

Had RAGE 01 come through ZNY wanted "direct Barnes". I'm wondering if the Barnes guys use the RAGE call. Because while he was talking to the controller, he slipped and said KILLER then corrected himself back to RAGE.

the Nasa Short 430 is back,
plus an E-2 (odd looking pair of planes!)
I believe the E-2 was 'Score 103'

private plane having landing gear problems (twice in one week--don't know if same plane)

Rage is another of the training callsigns. Its usually Killers vs Rages.

I think it's a different one. The FAA shows a gear-up landing at SBY on Tuesday afternoon as a Cessna 310, which is a small twin. This one looks like a single, maybe a Mooney?

Guys,

Got the below article from another list. Interesting to see how the impending budget cuts will affect flight training, ops etc

Default 143.450

Guys,

All afternoon I've been hearing 143.450 FM with callsign Mike Delta and 3 Golf India. The are Army MARS stations working as part of a National-level Army MARS HF exercise.

Anyone familiar with this freq or these callsigns?

Guys,

After some more listening and some research found that this freq 143.450 MHz FM is used by the US Army MARS Region 3 folks and is located at a repeater on Ft Meade. This was part of a nationwide US Army MARS exercise on HF. When they switched to HF on 7311.0 USB and I was able to get their full callsigns: AAA3RD acting as NCS and working with AAA3DE, AAR3RE, AAR3MR, AAR3PR AAR3DN, AAA3MD,

Lots of Warren Grove range activity tonight (while RR was down) on range primary 283.1
RAVEN flts worked at the range around 1930 local.
Then 2 groups of BICEPs working laser combat/close air support training. CRUSADER was an apparent ground unit. (A/A 140.1) Then BICEPS met up with TOPCAT 7 for AR on 288.0 then to 235.1

Question: Over the past 4 years during Obama's term I noticed a dramatic decrease in Guard Dog activity when the pres visits Camp David. Can some of the "die hards" here come up with an approximate number of times President Obama has been at Camp David? Seems like when Bush was in office there many more missions.

You're absolutely right, the number of times he has been at Camp David has dropped dramatically compared to his predecessor. I don't have an exact number available at the moment but I think it would be fair to say that for every 5 times Bush was at Camp David Obama has been there once.

Obama has spent far less time at Camp David and far more time at other places.

I know I'll take some heat for this but here goes.......Maybe the President thinks Camp David is too close to Washington D.C. ......You know like sometimes you just can't get far enough away from where you work.........(putting on firesuit now)

Maybe it's just a case of Obama being a "city boy" who gets too jittery when he's not close to concrete & steel i.e civilization. Camp David might too far out in the " boonies" for his liking.

On the other side of the coin, I believe that Obama has used AF1 much more than his predecessor
