There is chatter in Carroll of going digital some day "soon", maybe the rebanding set one of the paths for that, dunno. Anyway, my point is that you may want to look for a digital scanner which will surely fit the current need and hopefully the longer term need. Unfortunately purchasing one of them involves a significant amount of coin.

Most all of the current digitals (and many of analog trunktrackers, too) can deal with rebanding, although some require a bit of software fixing to make it work. GRE/RS radios in general cannot be rebanded manually - they have to use software. Not so with the Unidens, particularly the XT models, which are already set up with the necessary firmware. Older Unidens may need firmware updates.
If you go here, then go to the 'Scanners' listing, you will see links by manufacturer. Click on the page, and each model has a column that specifies whether the radio supports rebanding or not
Scanners and Scanning - The RadioReference Wiki
Digital trunktrackers can handle analog signals without issue.
Some have pre loaded databases that are updated on a regular basis - these are probably the easiest to set up. They are flagged by model number in the listings.

Go back and read the message - including the part about 'analog trunktrackers', of which the 2055 is one....I said 'many' not 'all'...
In any case, the answer is NO to the 2055s supporting rebanding (and it is so marked on the RS page). The problem here is that 5 of the frequencies have a 0 in the 4th decimal - that corresponds to channels that the 2055 doesn't have in its table.
Oh, and you do know better than to double post - nuff said

No intent to double post. The connection crapped out. I didn't see my post when I went back in, never saw it until you just brought it up. I don't see an option to delete it.
Understood about the 0 issue. Really liked these boxes, now they will
be relegated to the land of scanners of decades ago....listening to a handful
of VHF transmissions. I guess we'll see what CraigsList will bring. Can't say
I'm a fan of the way RR does their For Sale pages any longer.
Thanx

BTW, I did read the "many" but not "all". Grasping for straws and when you mentioned what you did, I had to ask.

Heh...Yeah....I saw that a couple of years ago in the database. Maybe it's coming soonER now?
I gave my father-in-law my PRO-95 a few years ago and re-programmed it for Carroll County, MSP and lower PA police/fire (don't remember off the top of my head which counties. they are up near the PA line).
Thanks for the latest update on CC possibly going digital "soon".

The last I also read/heard is that carroll is slated to be fully digital (within the year), and suspect the rebanding is towards that goal.
