Fort Howard VA Police Frequency
Does anyone have any idea what the Fort Howard veterans affairs police frequency may be? I just got a Pro-197 and was curious.
Fort Howard VA Outpatient Clinic - VA Maryland Health Care System
It's not a major facility but has a lot of abandoned buildings and one active small medical center, all patrolled by VA police.

According to Wikipedia it is patrolled by the Park Police.

The 'park police' are the VA Police officers. Wikipedia is not always accurate.

they have no regular security. precinct 12 is who you need to be worried about. just don't set any fires and you shouldn't have any unexpected visitors.

How does that answer my question? I am well aware of who they have working down there. They used to only be patrolled Monday through Friday by 1 VA police officer, Believe me, I know. Then there was an abandoned house burned down in July and ever since it has been guarded 24/7 by the VA police and another security company. The property is owned by the Department of Veterans Affairs and has a small but active medical center on the property amongst the abandoned buildings. I have spoken with the VA police once and see them coming in and out of there all the time. If you need proof that there is VA police down there then here you go. (see attachment, taken while legally on the property, not trespassing)

How do you know this?
I saw your picture, I know they do make appearances on occasion but I'm almost positive that place is completely empty at nights. I'm honestly surprised you caught two VA patrol cars at once down there, I've only see one at a time going in or out and even that is a rarity. And why wouldn't they just park one of the marked cars at the gate or just have somebody in the guardshack, if they are there 24/7, they certainly aren't making their presence known. And I've heard at least one suspicious persons calls for the park from north point precinct recently and never once was VA police or any security mentioned.
Regarding the frequencies, you should have just tried asking when you had the opportunity to talk to them. even if you did have the freqs anyway I doubt you'd hear much of anything anyway considering the situation down there.

When I talked to them I didn't have a scanner, but the guard told me they are there 24/7 because of the fire and he even showed me his night vision binoculars. I was working in the park next door for something during the week that ran into the night and I would see them there. driving around patrolling every so often. Plus, just the other night I was getting Chinese food and two of them came in at the same time as me and I guess were on their late night lunch break. That was around 9, That place used to be completely dead on the weekends and nights but not now. If the VA police are changing shifts then it is an older guard in a white truck who honestly doesn't do much other then sit in the parking lot. At night they don't sit at the guard shack but they sit about halfway into the property waiting for people to hop the fence and go in. The cop told me when they first started working a lot of people would try and sneak in at night but once they realized it was guarded it has quieted down. When is the last time you were nearby? Because ever since October I have saw them actively there at night.

Two brush fires were just set on the property again. Guess security wasn't there today at least.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but from what I've been told the fire was in the marsh lands right before you get to the gates to Fort Howard. Nice try though! The initial call went out for Chestnut St BY Fort Howard. Do you really think kids would set brush on fire when there are 20 abandoned buildings there? Pfft.

calm down cheech
No need to get all defensive
From you were told by whom exactly? My buddy was working at station 9 last night and I'd trust his first hand account over what you were "told".
Regardless as I said before there is no regular security there

Okay, I believe you. I am not getting defensive, I'm just saying. Even if it was there, I doubt it was deliberately set. The neighbors nearby were actually reported to be burning piles of stuff in their front yard the day before. Who knows if that could've caused it. I don't know why you just wont believe me when I say that the place is guarded 24/7. Please just drive down there one day and you will see them, Then you will feel dumb. I have no reason to lie about them having security.
