Just a FYI, PG County went to Phase II last Thursday morning. With the exception of a couple of gliches (some police that didn't get their portables programmed) everything went very smoothly.

It should work just as well, FiRST 700 MHz system is pure Phase II and PSR800 picks up just fine (with the right firmware)

Back home now watching PG's system in Pro96Com. So far only seeing the "usual" Phase 1 activity - 8A1/Fire dispatch, 8A2/Fire routine, etc. Laurel Police (TGID 199) is the only other talkgroup I'm seeing fairly regularly coming up in Phase 1 mode.

PG County system is Phase II TDMA (system was upgraded recently from X2-TDMA to pure Phase II TDMA), Police is operating in TDMA voice and Fire is operating on FDMA voice.

Isn't Phase II TDMA?

Phase II is TDMA however the PG County system was built as X2 - a non-P25 Motorola TDMA implementation that was sold prior to the actual Phase II standard being finalized. A radio programmed in X2 mode can't affiliate onto a P25 Phase II system and a P25 Phase II radio (non-X2) can't affiliate onto an X2 system.

PG County system is Phase II TDMA (system was upgraded recently from X2-TDMA to pure Phase II TDMA), Police is operating in TDMA voice and Fire is operating on FDMA voice.

Thanks.
