If anyone is interested in picking up the Broadcastify coverage for the new Carroll County P25 system, I have the trunking codes.

When will the RR database be updated for P25?

And, what's the difference now with the changeover? Will my BCD396XT be compatible with it?

This will need to be submitted to the database team to update the entry. How long? No way to know for sure

Yes, as long as you can hear the new control channel, the 396XT should be able to trunk it (for now). The database has this as a Phase 2 system, so if / when that happens, you will need a Phase 2 scanner to trunk it. The 396XT won't do it. I suspect they will run in Phase 1 to shake out the system before they all migrate, but that's purely a WAG on my part.

However, as noted in another thread, there is the possibility that if you are in an outlying area, you may have a more difficut time hearing the system. There is a mandate (?FCC) that strongly recommends reducing the signal levels in areas that are not intended for coverage.

Hard for me to believe that Carroll County (and St. Mary's and Harford) is/are now ahead of Anne Arundel County in radio technology. :lol:

On the other hand, at least for now, Anne Arundel County is pretty clear with their analog trunk system so I'm not complaining....

You can/should submit it. If you do, it will make the library updates from download starting Saturday (for GRE radios) and Monday (for Uniden)

Your friends don't have to wait for the database to be updated to listen to the new system. They can use the info you have provided to create a favorites list and begin receiving that system right away.

The old analog system was always easy to receive here in Gettysburg. Even
using a PSR-800 and stock antenna.
The new system is gonna be very difficult. No signal with the PSR-800 now and had
to resort to a 12 element/800 Mhz yagi antenna @ 30ft, fed with 1/2" hardline and
the control channel is only slightly above the noise..
Tried various combinations of receivers including three BCD-996t, and Icom IC-R7100
without success. Antennas used, discone, 6db coaxial stack, and a coat hanger.

Ran Pro96comm for about an hour using the PSR-800 and yagi. Please take the
info as very suspect because of the low level signal

Those last (2) frequencies you didn't see are still over on the old analog system for some remaining traffic that is still being transitioned over. They will be brought over very soon.

You may want to redirect your yagi towards the Bridgeport site on Rt 140 at the Carroll/Frederick line. See if that helps.
