Friday afternoon Fitchburg FD made an announcement on Mid-State Control that effective immediately all FD operations will be on the new UHF frequency 470.550 D-226. It appears that 154.25 was shut down as of Friday afternoon.

I can remember the first time I heard Fitchburg Fire on 154.25. I can also remember telling my parents that I was hearing "Pittsfield". I had the CRB freq guide - I dont know why I thought I was listening to Pittsfield. That would have been back around 1970. Peter Sz at 1050AM EDT
