Default Military Air Discussion Thread V.1

Most of the other state boards have some type of a mil air thread but, I have yet to see one for Mass. so I figured I would start it!

The purpose of this thread is to post military air information (logs, freqs, callsigns, serials, etc).

Enjoy!

What freq is HUNTRESS using to control the Langley F-15s and the KC-135 tanker for the Martha's Vineyard CAP?

Just received:

104FW Auxiliary 5 (349.400)

158th Interplane (125.125), call sign VICTOR.

Unclear if they're directly related to the POTUS arrival however.

Thanks zerg901. The creation of this thread was actually a courtesy move to help alleviate the traffic from the Maryland Mil Air thread. People have however continued to post there for the MV CAP, which is fine.

VT ANG F16s are up and about today on 138.525, 138.625, and 295.800 (AR631).

A few transmissions I've heard from here in Boston:

1309-10Z: "...have clearance at 270 to support air cp, on descent to 270."

1316Z: "JAWS 1 we have MAYDAY 7 (?) as well, you are clear to join."

President stays busy, mostly out of sight : Martha's Vineyard Times : August 27, 2009

This article seems to say that President Obama might go to Hyannis on Thursday. (The article has a Aug 27 date) (see the 5th paragraph).

In addition I think there is a motorcade planned for Thursday from Hyannis to Boston.

The President will probably attend Senator Kennedy's funeral.

Apparently Obama is going to give the Eulogy at Kennedys' Funeral on Saturday. I think the motorcade is supposed to leave Hyannis Port around 1pm today.

Here is a link from the WBZ1030 website about the planned motorcade route.

On one of the live scanner audio feeds yesterday I heard a US Coast Guard asset calling "Flatland Control on Fox Mike" - I think it was USCG 27XX - which I think is one of the USCG jets. Probably on 164.55 or 166.225. Peter sz

Exclamation

zerg901, Lynch_Christopher, and DaveNF2G, please stay on topic and post military air communications information only.

If you would like, one of you can start a new thread pertaining to off-topic chit-chat.
