Boston - Ted Williams Tunnel Programming
Hi,
I'm trying to program Ted Williams Tunnel for Boston in my Radio Shack Pro-106
Can I just add the control channal or do I have to add the talk groups also ?
Thanks for any help that you can give me.

Of course you need to enter the CC(s), but without any TGs you will get an error, "Nothing Enabled." You need to add at least a Wild Card TG and it must be assigned to a scan list. That will allow you to hear all the other TGs without regard to who they are. Doing it this way creates an Open System. If you only want to listen to certain Talk Groups, then, by all means, enter the TGIDs for those groups.
It would also help us help you if you would return to your User CP (the left side of the second blue bar from the top of any page if you are logged in) and edit your profile to include your city and state as you were asked to do when you registered here. That information will automatically be displayed and no one will have to ask where you are when you ask a question.

Yes, you can just add the CC, but unless your actually in the Tunnel
you are not going to hear that Zone. You can listen to the Turnpike traffic on Zone 5 when outside the Ted.

You need to program in the TGID you want to hear while in the tunnel, or program in a Wildcard for that scan list.

Bill (or somebody) will correct me if I'm wrong, but the only time you will hear traffic in the tunnel is if someone is on a particular talk group while in the tunnel. Traffic from the regular A/H trunk is not simulcast in the tunnels on a regular basis. This is to keep the limited number of frequencies on that site from being tied up with traffic that no one who actually uses the system will hear.

Unless something has changed, I had always heard traffic [running Trunker while Mobile] I think some T/G's are always on for those zones.
It's been awhile since I ran trunker thru the Tunnels

Very well could be, but I never hear anything in the tunnel. Well, I used to when they were running radar in the northbound I93 tube on morning watches. E Patrol 5, as I recall, but I haven't heard that since I went back to nights.
