Default Lawrence MA Box assignments

Someone out there must know, this... How does Lawrence assign it's box responses? I have heard 4111, 5111, 2111. I have listened for a while and so far it makes no sense.
Thanks

As an example of how boxes are assigned, it's usually done with a grid of the city or town, just fill in the blocks with a number sequence. Some departments additionally put street boxes with lower numbers, such as 1112-5999 and 6111 on up as master boxes. Weymouth had a large amount of wired boxes but the majority have been removed, some replaced with radio boxes. There are very few wired boxes in town now. Not sure exactly how they do it in Lawrence, maybe by district.

In Lawrence the boxes ending in 111 are struck from the dispatch office for a phone call. Could be a call from a central station alarm company or a 911 call for a fire, they announce the nature of the call in the initial dispatch. The first number designates the area of the city.

Thanks.

This may sound dumb but if they get multiple calls for incidents in the same area I would assume they increment the incedent from 2111 to 2112 or such

No question is dumb, just the one that is never asked. If a second incident occurs, then of course there would be a second assigned box number, since that would only make sense. Every call taken by the Fire department is assigned a number in sequence, so therefore a second call would not receive the same box assignment. Let's not get too complicating here, it's only common sense.

With E-6 (Prospect Hill/Howard St) and E-8 (Tower Hill/Ames St) both closed they only have 3 engines left in the city. I believe all 3 along with the nearest ladder go on a struck box. Street boxes may only get the nearest 2 engines & a ladder now, not completely sure about that.
