Hello,
I received a message from Ryan/AB6OI yesterday regarding alpha tags working fine with Real Player when connected to my feed. I tried it as well and confirmed that they do work fine with the .mp3 feed, actually doing a better job than Winamp does. I still think Winamp is superior and that performance with the .ogg feed is the best, but the Real Player performance is quite good as well, amazingly.
In order to make connecting to the scanner feed as painless as possible, I have set up what I hope to be the final links to it. I was prompted to do this with the above discovery. I want to try to ensure that the link you need is available to open the player you use with little to no pain involved. With that in mind:
The Winamp Feed:

The Real Player Feed:
http://www.scancapecod.net/livescan/feed.ram
The Windows Media Player Feed:
http://www.scancapecod.net/livescan/feed.asx
(Audio only)
All three links have been tested and re-tested and open the proper players. I see no way that I can make it any simpler than that. Any problems beyond this point are due to conflicting audio players fighting over which one plays which type of file. It'll be up to you to check and uncheck defaults, but I'll help if I can.
The
http://www.scancapecod.net/livescan/capecod.m3u link will remain available for a while, but please switch over to the above ones asap. Also, kindly report any issues you are having. Thanks for your patience during this transition, and thanks again to Ryan as well.
