Officer shot in Highland Park

A Highland Park police officer has been shot responding to a breaking and entering alarm at the Gold Nugget Jewelry Exchange & Loan at
Woodward and Tyler, just south of Davison Freeway, police said. The officer is believed to be conscious. No other information is available on the extent of his injuries. Witnesses say a second person may have also be shot.Detroit Police are on the scene assisting Highland Park police. North- and southbound traffic along Woodward is being rerouted.
