What system? If it is the one used by the MSP, then you may want to try the talk group list found on RadioReference.com. Perhaps that would have the information that you need.

I am new to Trunking and this is how I programed my Pro-2096:

Right out of the box I programed the V folder bank 6 and heard alot of activity, so with Win96 I copied that bank and also entered in the local Towers and County talkgroups from RR database into Banks 0 & 1.

Seems like most of the time I do not know who I am listening to? MSP, County, Local? I think it may be MSP when they will say: go Car to Car and I can no longer monitor, I have also heard: go to 2 but that could be another agency?

Today I heard a LEO give his location and he was in Flint? (over 200 mi. from my location) but came across a local Tower?

in addition to the above, I have several questions,

Programing:

I am ONLY using my Pro-2096 for Digital Monitoring ONLY, so I would like to have it optimumly programed so I hear all as possible. Please advise.

It would be nice to have Alpha Tags so I know who I am listening to, but the info in the V Folder just gives me the ch #? I wrote down all freqs, then searched RR data base, made list, but still dont know who I am listening to? & the info I programed, I see the Tower location for a alpha Tag and any talkgroup abbreviation. How do you achieve this?

Thanks much.

E-man:

It looks like you have all the tools to use the Web Download features of Win 96 4.01 ... Tools needed: Win 96 Version 4.01 ; donating member to Radio Reference; Pro 2096 or Pro 96. Now go to Win 96 click on file and use Web Resource ... follow screens form there ( Oh I forgot you must be on line ) This dandy little enhancement allows you to download tower info and Talk Group info right from Radio Reference. I have been downloading MI sytstems like a mad man .... It is incredible ! Thanks to Lindsey and Don Starr. Let me know if you need any help and by the way I'm sure you will download some car to car talkgroups.
