Default Wayne County Talkgroups 57648 and 57740

57648- DTW External Security 2-A
57664- DTW External Security 2-B

Are these talkgroups active. I have been listening to this system for a couple of years now. I have heard all of the DTW talkgroups but not these two.

I have heard them on there only on two separate occasions, but most of the time these talkgroups are completely dead. I wonder if these operations might be on other talkgroups or low power simplex?

I don't know who'd be running 'external security' anyhow. It seems that the Airport Police do a good job patrolling everywhere on and around the property. Guardian Security does the rest of the security ops and inside the airport, I've heard them using "internal security" 1 and 2. Regardless, the security talkgroups are rather pointless to listen to unless you work for Guardian's services at the airport because "3 echo tango alpha" doesn't mean diddle to me.

lol...I'm glad that someone shares my pain. After listening them for a couple days straight, I sort of got an idea for the language (I will try to work on a list). I love it when other agencies call in and they use plain English (what a concept). Anywho, most of the weird letters and numbers are door numbers, which you would only know what door is what if you a) work for WCAA or b) have unauthorized access to the information.

External Security refers to the checkpoint guard shacks on the fence line. These are patrolled by Gaurdian Security. Gaurdian also handles the terminal security such as open door alarms things of that nature. PD has the task of patrolling the terminals and responding to unruly passangers, unattended baggage, other agency escorts ie FBI, Marshals, CIA, Secret Service, other PD agencies.
