Default Kalamazoo County, City of Portage Police are they on 800Mhz?

I was wondering if the Portage PD are on the MPSCS system. I know that Kalamazoo City and the Sheriff Dept. switched over, but nothing said about Portage. I would assume that they remained on the old system that they had in place. :?: :?:

Now that K-ZOO is on the MPSCS system I can monitor them with just a whip attenna on my scanner instead of roof mounted one. So with that being said I would like as much info on them as possible. Any additional info about K-zoo County and the unit numbers for city and county cars, and who all does the sheriff dispatch there, far as twp or other small cities within the county. Thanks, you can P.M. me with this info, or if you like or post it here for everyone to see...

Hope that this post is answered without a lot of the run around. Keep it simple, if you know it - post it, or if you know it, and don't want to - don't, but either way there is no need of you trying to start an arguement. If You feel the need to be rude don't post. This comment is only meant for a few and you know who you are!! :x

The last I knew, Portage PD was still active on 857.2625 MHz., but they do have access to the WMU TRS if they need to use it, but nobody has confirmed what talkgroups they are on. Moreover, they do plan on switching to the MPSCS, but only when the reception problems in their city are resolved, and financial funding to procure the necessary equipment is available.

Thanks Thunderbolt

I will continue to monitor the old freq's, and if i hear any changes i will post them on the forums. Mean while enjoy this pix of a real portage police car on the I-94. The officer was so mad that was i taking pixs that i could not get a pix of the truck in front of him that was off the road also.
Thanks

Portage PD is still using it's old VHF freq. of 158.85.
Kal county SD is still using 155.43 for running regular traffic,
but are doing LEIN checks on the MPSCS system on the 3440
TG id. I think I also heard Sher. Dept dispatch using the 3442
TG id but have heard it on a very limited basis.

The police cruiser is resting on a picece of house trailer that fell off of the truck and trailer in front of the cruiser. I tried to get pixs of the truck but the officer involved was so pissed that he said, that he will give me as many tickets as he could if he catches up to me. As you can see that this was taken from across the highway off the road. I tried to take his pix also, but a truck came by blocking my view, and he was getting to close. Not sure if i was legal so i took off.

That picture is PRICELESS!! I am sure there was a good reason for it though......but..

Dont let a police officer scare you like that.....as long as you are not interfering with traffic, and or his duties he cannot write you for anything!!!!! and if he does, it will not be held up in a court of law!
