I have not head anything under the MPSCS system. But if Battle Creek is the agency in charge they would be on the MPSCS system and of course their traffic is encrypted. But if the county goes under their talk groups. Same thing, encrypted

Well theres plenty more to listen to, I doubt there going to give every balloon operator a 800, or all the flight teams, or ground support.

Default Balloon Fest

Security at the BC Balloon Fest are using MPSCS. I have heard them on talkgroup 1397. 1397 isn't listed in the database and has also been used for emergency WX comms between BC and GR WX.

They're not going to give ANY balloon team a MPSCS radio. Might want to do a search here on balloon teams if that's what you're looking for.

These lists may be a little out dated, but it gives you a place to start.

This list has several Battle Creek balloons listed, I don't know how good they still are.

Don't forget the main website. If you look the pilots up in the FCC database, you might find their frequency.

TG-1397 is in the database as I-EVENT33

Default BC Ballonfest

I did find 1397 in the Database listed as Law Enforcement Only - Special Details. Anyway it's not encrypted as BC Police Freqs are.

As stated above (and in the database) it is Event 33. Used by various agencies when working a multi-agency event. And not encrypted.

Default 151.625

151.625 mhz has always been popular with hot air balloons air-to-ground comms.
