As a past listener for years of this system several thoughts come to mind. I believe the PD and patrol cars were always on the 155.550 repeater. The FD dispatch was on 153.890 and was on a repeater. The fire units were not from what I remember. I believe Montcalm or Mecosta county in those days were on 155.550 as well, this might have contributed to the bleed over. I have no doubt that the old system would have sufficed them if they would have put in some more towers and put the FD mobiles on the repeater tower. I am sure the new system will work very well indeed, if I lived in Allegan County I would be concerned that not all participating emergency personnel do not have these radios. Allot of Allegans traffic in the old days was to handle dispatching duties for the 56 Wayland POST, with them now probably on the new state system not sure just how much more traffic they would be dispatching today then 5 years ago. Just my 2 cents.
