Default Detroit PD testing

Just heard a dispatcher from Detroit PD doing testing on STATW2. He said that they are doing training today on the new system.

So far I haven't heard anything else. I have all of the detroit talk groups programmed in, so I hope to be able to catch some of the training.

Affiliations and grants I've seen from the radio IDs that fit the pattern have been in the 8040-8080 range as far as talkgroups. Look there.

Lots of tech type radio checks on 8049, most of the other transmissions on 8040.

Any clue on how they are going to integrate with MPSCS? Will the Detroit system be linked perminantly? Or only brought online when needed?

Maybe I looked at the info wrong...I thought they were going to be a MPSCS Simulcast system? and if that is the case their system would be just like Monroe County correct?

The Detroit subsystem will be a fully operational fully linked part of the MPSCS. What makes it different is that it is licensed to the City instead of the State.

The Detroit subsystem will be Zone 7 of the MPSCS and will ID as Tower 701, SysID: 796 (MPSCS). It will also be limited as to who can use it from what I understand.

Thanks for the info, Mike. With all of the training that they have been doing I would guess that they will be online very soon.

I would hope so, but since the main system is not currently operational (the system being used now is a temporary single site system), all bets are off as to when the switch will actually occur.
