That's my latest info too. Not much going on til the new tower is finished - my guess is winter is not the best time to be putting up a tower...

Thanks for the info. Just had not heard anything for a while. I knew an antenna had to be build but wasn't sure if that was still happening.

Have they started construction on any of the other tower sites around the county?

As I recall everything was set until they found out the BWL tower downtown was already overloaded...

Had a few beers with a Dep last night, she claimed the new radio was installed, and 'a piece of crap'.
Didnt delve much further.. but that's what I heard.

Mid-Summer is the last I heard for it to be operational. The East Lansing Communications Center (East Lansing, MSU, Merdian Twp) just moved to their new dispatch center a couple months ago in the basement of ELPD. They are currently using brand new M/A-COM consules and equipment in dispatch on the current UHF analog system (and VHF for East Lansing/Merdian Twp Fire). Last I heard the agencies dispatched by the East Lansing Center will switch over before the agencies dispatched by the Lansing Center sometime this summer.
