When is this system supposed to come on line? I know they have been talking about it for a few years now.

The new Project 25 TRS maybe operational before December. The game plan is for the County to add another tower near exit #136, just off I-75. Likewise, his new tower will help to boost coverage in northwestern Genesee County. Moreover, the MPSCS towers in Bridgeport and Hemlock will be included in the new system. That said, when you add up all of the frequency pairs from the current Saginaw County analog TRS, and the two MPSCS towers, then you'll have 28 frequency pairs available. Should be a rather interesting system once it's online.

Default Road comission

Saginaw County road commision i beleive have the radios already. The last several weeks i have been picking up tg 12228 The radio id's are Saginaw County . Heard them talking about culverts and cutting a tree across the road. Possibly a good testing ground for coverage. before converting public safety?

They have had the radios for 2 years now (Moto XTS2500's) all they need to do is reflash them and make a template and they are good to go.

Its easier to go from 800 Analog to 800 P25 cost is less then 1/2 that of building a system becuase they don't need hardly any new equipment at all.

This has been done before by other counties across the country. The public works agencies get to feel out the system first, identify its weak spots, and pave the way for the public safety agencies to come online, after significant infrastructure improvements are made. This would make the most sense, especially when Saginaw County already has two high-profile MPSCS towers.

Noticed this text at the link, 'by end of December, 2009;'

It was all along said to be at end of '08. Typo or a change in schedule?

Apparently, there was a change in the schedule.

Okay at the county dispatch channel list page,
http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=91
it says "by end of December, 2009"

Then at the Saginaw county page, http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?ctid=1299
it says "All public safety operations in Saginaw County will be operating on the MPSCS TRS, by the end of 2008."

Anyone know which is correct? 08 or 09?

Found an older thread about this http://www.radioreference.com/forums...hp/t-7092.html

I listen everday and have heard the County Road Commission on 12226, 12227, 12228, 12229, 12230, 12231, and 12233. There are three different garages that they work out of but haven't figured which garage goes with which numbers yet. They use the numbers like 100 to 106, 400 to 405 and so on.

Here is the license application submitted to the FCC, for the Saginaw County Simulcast TRS. Likewise, here is a supporting letter from the state of Michigan. Apparently, they plan on using a total of 16 frequency pairs for this simulcast system.

I can confirm misome31's post. I'm friends with one of the MPSCS Trainers for Saginaw County and he told me the same thing. All agencies converted & operational by the end of September.

Default Saginaw MMR?

Can anyone confirm TG2624 as Saginaw MMR? I caught traffic about alpha units and "switching back to analog" off the Hemlock tower a couple of days ago. There is no RR entry for this talk group. Thanks.

Default What will happen to the old Motorola system?

Will all users currently on the Motorola system also switch over, or will it continue to function for a few?
