Command Post is being established at the Sunoco Gas Station at 10 Mile and Greenfield. Southfield is very active on 424.325 MHz.

What a day this is turning out to be. The area PD's that came to this officer's aid are now battling the ongoing damages of 60+ mph winds.

You know, I pretty much caught it from when Southfield got to the scene. What I find amazing is Oak Park's ability to continue on with the night. I fully expected them to pull all their officers and other departments to send guys in there and cover for them until the day shift gets in. I give all the credit in the world to those guys for putting the community first and the grief of their brother 2nd.
May God bless that officers family and his brothers and sisters of the Oak Park Department of Public Safety.
BTW....the shooter is a 16 year old black male......when will it ever end....

When they catch this piece of human feces (I'm being nice here!), they should teach this waste of human flesh a lesson! He's just some dumb young punk that thinks he's tough. It's a shame that if and when they catch this loser, they can't beat the daylights out of him and leave him laying in the street. It wouldn't bother me if that would happen. With him being black, I'm sure some idiot will come out saying he was victimized by the police. The bottom line is that he is nothing more than a piece of trash that needs his butt kicked!

I hope when (NOT if) they catch the POS (and like others have said, I'm being nice) they prosecute him as an adult, (even though it looks like it was just some punk teenager), to the fullest extent of the law. And my thoughts and prayers are with the officer, his family and his colleagues at Oak Park DPS.

Whatever happened to the legislation that was working its way through the Michigan government reinstating the death penalty for "individuals" (putting it politely) that are convicted of murdering Public Safety/Law Enforcement Officers? It might not be a deterrent for hardened criminal adults, but it might make kids like this think twice about fighting an officer.
My thoughts and prayers also go out to all involved in this tragic incident.

Wow! Is someone bitter today or what? Granted, a cop's life was lost, but when does that quantify the extreme actions that you'd like to take? Your quote about the perp "being black" sounds quite racist. Did it ever occur to you that *white* people have shot cops too?
Granted, I'd like to take the same actions as you, but still, the perp has rights, screwy as they may be. May I suggest you take a deep breathe and re-read your comments, then maybe think about taming them down a touch?

Dak48 is right, the kid still has rights. For all we know the gun could've discharged accidentally fatally striking the officer.
A lot of angles can still be drawn from this. Let's just hope it's the right one for all parties involved.

Thanks Tony, it is the actual chair at the Nebraska State Penitentary, though most likely will never be used again since the Nebraska courts ruled electrocution to be cruel and unusual punishment. Personally, I think the chair is more befitting then lethal injection, I mean geez, lethal injection is giving the condemned one last high.

Thanks Jose, I regretted sending that msg after hitting send because I thought it might come of sounding wrong, but I guess my point was made well enough.
