Default 60 mph Winds....

I gotta admit this is scary...especially in a tree lined city.

I think I'd like to trade up for 12 inches of snow instead.

Same here in Macomb Township. This is some weird weather! Last week we got about 10 inches of snow and yesterday it felt like Spring.

Default Aah, guys, come on down to Florida;

we have at least 6 days a year with winds in excess of 60 mph, and we still have power! But I say all this in jest, because I was born and raised up there next to your state. Ohio had freakies weather too way back when. Hope you all got some way to stay warm.

I was driving home from Mansfield, Ohio last Winter. The GPS led me to the turnpike along Lake Erie. Holy cow, talk about lake affect snow. It was the first time I witnessed semi's driving off the road and into the cornfields in the icy and near blizzard conditions. Some of them a good 1/4 mile off the turnpike.

Default Josč, back in '53 we had a blizzard

that shut down the entire city of Marion and most other central Ohio counties. it was bad. But I remember that Michigan had their bad storms too! But what you said about the semi s going off the turnpike blew my mind! lol Anyway, you all stay safe and warm (some how) up there in the north country!
BTW, Mansfield was just 30 odd miles east of my birth place there in Marion. Moved to Mansfield in '62 for a couple of years.

I just heard on the scanner about someone who left their dog outside (with that wind) with no food or water for two days and nights. I wished I would have caught the address, I'd like to let them know how I feel about that.

Wow, just imagine if you lived up here in da U.P. you could have the 60mph winds plus the snow and the outages all at the same time and think everything was normal. We usually think of it as insect repellant. (organic of course)

Normally we get these wind events in late fall. The NOAA radio rocked me out of bed sometime in the wee hours when they issued the high wind warning. This wasn't the worst I have experienced, but I did see some damage along the roads here indicative of 60-65mph gusts. F.O.E had their 10 foot brick sign out front broke in half, some of Gardner White's sign blew apart and a few downed wires. Thankfully I never lost power, just a few outages of a few seconds and it came right back on.

I lost power early Sunday and I'm still out. Using the computers at the Senior Center.

Never lost power here but it felt like my roof was going to be torn off the house.
