MPSCS Site ID ?

How do you know which site id to use and thus which freqs to program a scanner capable of picking up MPSCS. Looking at the DB it does not state which site id goes to what agency or is it that you could pick multiple site ids and get the same radio traffic. How far away can you be from a site id and pick up the radio traffic, example you cannot be in Grand Rapids and hear traffic from Lansing or are there other rules that apply like mabye DNR and MDOT you could but PD and FD you could not.

Example: If I wanted to program Manistee County which Site ID would I use.

For Manistee County you have 3 sites, 424,425,426. On the MPSCS system, the traffic carried by a site depends on what radios are in the area of that site.

This thread http://www.radioreference.com/forums...ad.php?t=82538 also contains a great Google Earth file with all the MPSCS tower locations. While it won't tell you who uses what tower, it will give you a good idea of what towers to program.
