Default Trouble listining to Grosse Pointe

im not sure that this is the proper location for this post, however as it is a michigan fourm and help from someone here in michigan would be great.

i have a uniden 396T and a 996T. i have programed my scanners with macomb county MPSCS and am trying to get East and West Wayne Mutuial Aid.. however as my programing is identical to the frequency list on radio reference database and my talk groups are all in correctly i can not get east or west m-aid.

i have gone over my programing muitiple times and have not had any luck in getting any radio taffic. MPSCS macomb and Wayne MPSCS come in perfectly however E/W wanye M-Aid do not... anyone have any ideas ????

anyone has this same issue?
i live in grosse pointe if that helps.

How are you programming the radio?? Software or by manual mode? Are you importing from RR?

It may be the radio. I have have programmed mnay of them and they work fine. However in the past few year or so I have seen many problems with the 396 & 996.. In fact we stopped selling those in favor of the much better GRE units.

I've found the same thing. Here in Rochester Hills my 396 & 996 will only receive East, West and Downriver Wayne Mutuial Aid at night. With the PSR-500 they all come in day and night. Both the 396 and PSR-500 have the RS 800 ducks on them. What firmware are you running. V3 improved the reception of them, as I couldnt receive them at all with V1 and V2.

Do you have the radio programmed for the right system type?

Western and Eastern Wayne County mutual aid are Motorola Type II systems using IMBE/APCO Digital voice.

The MPSCS is Apco-25 Digital trunking.

On your 996D make sure you made the tower type "800mhz Standard" and choose Motorola Type II/P25 and the system type. If you did that, it should work.

When to choose P25 and 800Mhz Standard has thrown me off on a few systems.

Good luck and let us know if you have it up and working!
