Default Nextel

Does anyone make a filter that will notch out Nextel towers? I can't monitor the MI state 800 system because of interference being received from a Nextel tower about 1/2mile away.

Not really

They both use 800 mhz. It will be a problem until Michigan if ever is rebanded.

If you monitor a specific tower on 800, you can get a simple 3 or 5 element yagi beam antenna, and point it at the tower, and it should get rid of the interference. This is only for home use tho.

There are "band pass" filters that will do what you need (TX/RX for one), however cost might be an issue. Just thought I would through it out there.

How can you be certain Nextel is the problem? I live very close to several Nextel towers, and have a Nextel phone laying on my desk about one foot from my scanners, and no problems.

What kind of interference are you experiencing? Where are you located and specifically what tower sites are you attempting to monitor?
