Default Conservation Officers

Has anyone heard Conservation Officers talk car to car???

I scan in the open mode and only hear the C.O.'s check in/out of service or run checks.

Just wondering how they communicate car to car.

I may have to put the old freqs back in and see if they're using them. I see some of the big whips on their vehicles yet.

They talk on their District TG..

Each District has it's own TG for C2C and general info.

I understand about the dist tg and I do scan in the open mode on a 2096 but my question is.

Has anyone heard Conservation Officers talk car to car?

If no has heard them then they must be using something other than 800 to talk to each other.

Yes, I have heard them talk car to car in several parts of the state on their district tg. It's not that much each time, so it is likely they use something other than that most of the time.

There alot of reasons You don't hear them talking car to car. You only have approx 170 conservation officers for the whole state! They work different days, different hours, spilt shifts and etc. Also some are assigned to Special Patrols, DNR Great Lakes Patrol ships, and etc.

Thanks Garry.

I know they are sparse but I used to hear them alot more then I do now.

I have 2 scanners running every day all day long and have not heard any car to car talk in a couple of years.

My listening hours are as varied as their work hours but we should have crossed paths at some point it seems like..........

One correction.......They are only allowed to have "boats" on the Great Lakes for patrol not "ships"....The Michigan Legislature wouldn't be so foolish as to give them a ship to play with.

Yea i hear CO's talk car to car when im in Houghton Lake. A lot of times its "How are you doing" kind of chats, but they will talk about brush fires in the area, whos working that day, etc. Even heard some of there planes up and about over the state. (Whether they own them or they're civilian aircraft)
