Smile Going to Michigan Intl Speedway

Hello. I am just wondering if someone can help me out here.

I will be going to the NASCAR race at the Michigan Intl Speedway on Sunday. But I will be leaving on Saturday and staying somewhere at a hotel in Michigan, which I dunno where yet. When we go we will be probably be taking I-75 from Sault Michigan and then hwy 127 to Jackson and then to the Speedway on Sunday.

I already have the freq for the race. So I am all set in this area.

What I am wondering is. What kind of good stuff is there to listen to on my way down on Sat and while I am at the hotel Sat night and Sunday night then on our way back to the boarder on Monday, other than the 800 MHz trunked system which I alrady got loaded into my scanner.

I am looking for stuff like: All Police (Sherrif, etc) EMS, Department of Natural Resources, Low Band, Medcom, Railway, Fire, Federal Law Enforcement, Military and anything else worthwhile and interesting to listen to.

I will be using and bringing my PRO 96 with me.

I will be waiting for any replies to this post. Thanks.

Way back in the late 90's I monitored a airphone patch after the Michigan 400 race in Brooklyn had ended. It was between an airplane and a person on a land line phone.

The person talking was Dale Earnhardt still have the audio tape of it.

Don't know if these frequencies are still active but you might want to give them a try.

It's all in the database already - is there something you don't see that you are looking for?

Default More to monitor

Lenawee County, Michigan (MI) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

Also look under railroads, military and airports for the rest of what you want. If you have a newer scanner you can download everything directly into your scanner. You'll need to be a paid member but that's very reasonable.

Smile Going to Michigan Intl Speedway

Now I am just wondering how I would program the: Ingham County Public Safety System into my PRO 96 it is EDACS Standard and is in the 400 MHz.
Do I just put all Control Channels in and Voice Channels in and do I start from channel ONE in the bank I am using or can I start from Channel ZERO in the bank I am using. Or would I just need to enter the Control Channels only. Just wondering how to set it up, so I can have it all set up when I leave to head to Lansing tomorrow.

Also like I mentioned in my first post. We will be taking I-75 from Sault Michigan then taking highway 127 to Lansing where we will be staying tomorrow night, then from Lansing to the Speedway on Sunday. We will be going through Jackson. So I am just wondering what Towers I should put in my PRO 96 for the: Michigan Public Safety Communications System (MPSCS). When we take the route that I just mentioned.

And also if there is anything else important or worthwhile I should put in for the SPEEDWAY or around there (like security, police or anything like that).

I will be waiting for any replies to the 3 questions I just asked in this post. Thanks again.

You start with 1 and program it as standard EDACS. You need all channels, CC-only is for Motorola systems only.

MPSCS Map V125 has a slightly outdated but still useful tower map.

Click the link I posted which shows a map of the state and the tower locations, combine that map with your path and you will see which towers to use.

The other question was answered as well - click on the Jackson and Lenawee databases and you'll see what other frequencies are available around the track.

Default Ingham

You would do exactly as the Pro-96 manual tells you to do. In order per LCN and do not use channel 0. The order and channel number must match the LCN. If you don't have the manual do a search and download it from one of the many places that has it along with Radio Shack.
