Portage/Kalamazoo State police HELP!?

Im new to programing trs' for my pro-197. Im using win500 and I am able to program and scan less complex systems like Kalamazoo County sheriff, but District 5 State Police has thrown me a curve ball. Can someone suggest a site/trunk group combination that will work in my area? A simple and busy trunk group is all I'm looking for... I can build from there.

You may want to scan with the wildcard talkgroup, so you can hear everything, and then decide what you want to lockout. For state police, I would recommend D5North and D5South, 3067 and 3068. Much of the time they are patched, and you should scan both, because which one the scanner receives while patched depends on what is patched to what (if that makes any sense).

For sites, given your location would try all the ones listed for your county, 3-002, 3-036, 3-041, with 3-001 (Paw Paw) as an outside possibility.
