Default Northville MPSCS tower down

MPSCS Site 206 in Northville has been in site trunking since about 6PM. NCC believes tower was hit by lightning.

Area agencies can communicate via mobiles, but not with portables. They seem to be having problems connecting to ‘good’ towers.

NCC techs left from Lansing aprox 30-45 min ago.

Also, it sounded like the Plymouth FD repeater is having problems as well.

Is there any difference in troubleshooting capability, between the "NCC techs" that you talk about driving down from Lansing, and the radio techs that work out of District Two, that live local?

Not sure. All I heard was they were coming from Lansing. Maybe they had to bring parts?

NCC techs only work in the NCC and don't do field work. About 2 years ago to save $$ by reducing the number of techs on call (cut about 50%) the response area was dramatically increased. So depending who's turn in the barrel it is you could have someone local, or coming from as far away as Midland to service Northville (or any other site in the defined area). As with every state agency times are tough and $$ is tight.
