Ionia County Primary Channel

Anyone know any details of the "patch" that Ionia county is using on the countywide primary channel? Is this going to be the first step towards going to an all digital system? Was listening last night and the state police units were having a heck of a time talking to central dispatch, it kept chopping up digitially.

Isn't Ionia County on MPSCS??

Maybe they are still simulcast but they switched to Digital awhile ago.

I was there two weeks ago and all the fire comms I heard were only on VHF. You're sure they switched to all digital?

I only noticed Ionia dispatch simulcasting all comunications on 155.31 and TG 3100 labor day weekend, Before that I only heard them Simulcasting BOL's. and using TG3100 to communicate with State police.

The city of Ionia is on the 800 system the rest of the county isn't

Correct, Sheriff has not moved to the MPSCS system. City PD and Lake-o has switched and some has some of the fire traffic. I heard it was coverage issues is why the sheriff has not made the switch yet, even after they put in the Ionia tower.

Correct, TG 3100 is simulcasting 155.310, Fire is still on VHF
