Default Need Help

Ok guys I need some help.

I work for HealthLink EMS our dispatch is on the MPSCS as well as our Med channels for calling the hospitals. The problem I'm having is picking up the Med channels from home (I live in Riverview) on my RS Pro-96, I cant zero in on what tower our Med TG's are hitting. I can get our Dispatch off the Flat Rock tower, although sometimes is seems that its too quiet like I might be missing something. Our Dispatch center is in Southfield but we operate Downriver and Southwestern Wayne County (mostly Lincoln Park, Southgate, and Romulus). The Med channels we use are through the Wayne County HEMS radio system located in the city of Wayne. It does not seem that out Med channels are hitting off the Flat Rock tower, the only other tower I can think of would be the Northville one but I can not get it from home, or possibly Detroit... cant get that either, but who can

If anyone out there monitors these channels and can help me out in any way I would very much appreciate it.
If more info is needed please let me know.

Thanks

I'm not familiar with your area but maybe you have an antenna problem that doesn't allow you to receive all the towers and the mpscs towers you need strong enough.

If that's not the problem maybe it's a programing problem with your scanner. It sounds like you are trying to listen to different types of signals. Check to make sure that the trunked freqs are programed as trunked and the others are programed correctly too.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8310/4.5.0.110 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/-1 UP.Link/6.3.1.20.0)

I worked for years installing and servicing Med systems for Pioneer Medical then Motorola Med systems in the midwest. Med channels 1-8 are not run thru a repeater. Depending on the system and area, voting recievers are used and in some systems, remote selectable transmitters depending on the area. All the systems are Half Duplex, so the medic and hospital can hear and talk at the same time. You will hear the Hospital almost all the time, but you'll need to be close to hear the medic. Med channels 9-10 are for dispatch usually a repeater system. Hope this helps.

ih - he's talking about medical channels on MPSCS, not the standard med channels.

And some systems (i.e. mine) do repeat the medics so you can hear them no matter what.

I can received everything else on the MPSCS in my area just fine. I think the problem is that I can only get the Flat Rock tower from my house, and the trucks on the road are using another tower.
If a truck in Lincoln Park is hitting off a tower other than Flat Rock, and no other truck operation within the Flat Rock tower coverage has there radios turned to the Med channel I will not be able to hear them. Correct?
And there are always trucks on the Flat Rock tower with radios on out dispatch channel.

I guess the real question I'm asking is what tower can you hear HealthLink units calling the hospitals on the MPSCS?
