Default FTC team one, this is a test...

Today on H-EVENT22, around 1500, I heard something odd, involving "FTC" and "teams". They read off lists of 12 ctegories of information, and at one point called for all FTC teams to "ingest your iodine".

What exactly was this?

It sounds like some type of test/exercise. Ingesting iodine, would be an indication that they had been exposed to radiation. Let's hope it was just a test!

Yeah, it sounds like some sort of Civil Defence drill. They said at the beginning and end of each transmission "This is a drill".

I didn't hear any of this, but in August of 2004, Palisades conducted a "tabletop drill", and the same type of callsigns were used. This was likely the same thing.

Sounds like that is what it was. Sounded as though they were taking radiation measurements at various distances from a certain point.

I only heard it on site 305 in Berrien county, but I'm not sure if they were using any others. If it was Palisades, I'd imagine they'd be using South Haven or Paw Paw exclusively.

If it was a tabletop drill, the measurement readings were not actually being taken, as everyone was in the conference room together.

As for the tower being used, it depends on where the room was and where the radios were to whomeever might have been listening (i.e. emergency management personnel for Berrien and Van Buren. Palisades evac area covers both counties.
