Thumbs up activity on Non control channels

I am having a lot of scanner activity on non control channels on the tower near me, found out by accident, with 2 scanners on at the same time the activity will not be on the control channel or the alt. control channel. Any Ideas?

Define activity. If it's voice, then it should be there. The controllers are data only. If it's voice you dont hear in "scan" or "closed" mode then you dont have those ID's programmed.

There may be nothing but idle burst activity on a system if it is just starting up, or winding down. There are other hardware/software tools that tell the Home Repeater number by the bursts. If there is activity, maybe the groups just have not been ID'ed and the database doesn't like non-IDed TG's being submitted.

Default tower in Crystal Falls

The activity is 2 way comunication that is perfectly understandable. I thought all the activity was broadcast on the control channel of the tower, or am I missing something here?

If you are refering to a TRUNKED SYSTEM, then there will be VOICE on all the channels except for the CONTROL CHANNEL. This is normal

Why do you program only primary and secondary or atlernate control channels then for the MI systems?

That's is all the scanner needs to find the voice channel.
