They might be doing some testing before the new system goes online, so they can compare signal strengths. Check their other channels and see if you hear a new 9600 baud control channel on it?

It was the old system the best that I can tell (No P25). The testing was on both the North and South End
Alot was inside buildings. There is known dead spots on the South End. One is at our club next to Wite Ways (8mi and Van Dyke).

I've been checking for a 9600bps control channel every couple days, nothing so far...

It sounded like someone, mabee MOT wants to see how it works now. I'm going to set up one of my scanners in the morning to see if it's 9600 if I hear it again.

From what I've read in the past, it's not unusual to do grid testing on the old system before installing or turning on a new system. This allows the techs and system operators to know what the differences in the systems are.

I live close enough to Warren to be able to hear it when it comes on without problems. (I work just across Dequindre, and live not too far away from there).

The voices I heard today sound like FD Command is doing the testing. It is on the old system, not P25.

Heard Waren testing a new radio today. Question my pro96 is showing MOT36 - is this correct for the old system - I never paid attention to the old system.

Yes, this is correct.

The new system when it goes on line is supposed to be 9600bps.

I only cought them on the pro96 not the BC796, but it was the FD was doing the testing, dispatch said it sounded real good. I know the new system will be P25 but I wasn't shure what the PRO96 would show the old system as since it was analog only, or have they done mixed mode for the cut over?

I haven't been monitoring it at all to speak of. Were the tests in digital mode?

I didn't catch if it was digital. I haven't got a 9600 control channel yet. I left the 796 as it was, but reprogramed the PRO96 for one channel per bank on the PRO96 for Warren. Since the PRO96 is not computer controled, I don't see it in the toolbar on my PC.

Still getting the old CC on 856.0875. Don't see any traffic on the new one yet.

Not yet. They only have 7 frequencies to work with at the moment to they have to take them away from the old controller, and add them to the new one as needed. I expected them to use the data option but the control channel isn't advertising that at the moment. I guess they'll probably keep using the configuration they have now for the MDCs then.

Warren does have two sites.
Pri 29900 Civic Center - PD station and
back up at 11899 12Mi - Hospital
They said yesterday they were running on backup and the DPW, today, said that they would have to get their radios reprogramed

Does anyone know if the new Warren system is going to be part of the MPSCS or are they going to be on their own??

It's suposed to stay as it was - a stand alone system - just an upgrade to P25

I'm seeing radio affiliations this morning. Not too many, just a few. I saw one transmission on TG 100 on Friday. Affiliations I've seen today are on TG 310.

Radio IDs are in the 10108000 range so far today.
