Tuscola County Migration To The MPSCS
In the coming weeks, Tuscola County will begin their migration to the MPSCS TRS. Please post any relevant information about the upcoming changeover in this thread. This includes any talkgroup information that you may find.

Here is a recent letter to the FCC, regarding the use of 868.850 MHz in Tuscola County. Apparently, this will be used for additional channel loading on the Caro site.

Are they building additional towers (i.e. simulcast?) or just staying on the Caro one?
This might be a little off topic but, for some reason I can't get a signal from Caro on my rooftop antenna but I do on my handheld one if I put it by the window.

It is my understanding they are just staying on the Caro tower for now. However, they add more down the road.

I was just looking for more news about Tuscola Co moving to MPSCS and couldn't find anything. Is there anything official besides them adding 1 freq to the Caro tower?

plugged in that freq and all the ones listed for Tuscola (caro) in the DB no control channel signal yet. Also BTW same thing for Bay county yet.

I get a signal on 868.9625 but only when I put the scanner by the window (my rooftop won't pick it up for some reason).
Bay County has its own thread BTW. |

Nope, says tower 210 and it picks up Saginaw and Genesee Co talkgroups.
I'm much closer to Caro. Lansing is about 65 miles from me. I'm only about 25 from Caro. I'm in Mt. Morris which is like 3 miles north of Flint in case you're confused. (maybe you were thinking of Morrice in Shiawassee County???)
So anyways, is their a press release or something official about Tuscola Co's move? I can't find anything in Google News.

Not exactly "new" info, but MMR has 2 bases in Tuscola County. They're dispatched on the same TG as the Saginaw County units (MPSCS 1803). I've picked it up off the Caro tower several times.

I've picked up some new TGs on Pro96Com that had Tuscola Co RIDs.
TG 2172 RID 2793188 Caro tower. Hearing what sounds like police calls to 46##, 47## and 33##. Dispatcher keeps calling itself Central.
TG 12058 RID 2793054 and 2793352 Caro tower. No voice yet.
TG 12418 RID 2793384 and 2793362 Caro tower. A medical call was dispatched with tones. Dispatcher called himself Central.

Pro96Com says the control channels are 868.9625 (primary) and 868.4625 (alternate). |

Talkgroup conflict: TG 12495 reported as Tuscola County Sheriff and Unionville PD. Template ID heard was 79P791 or 79PD791. If this is the case, it would be Unionville PD. Can anyone clarify this issue?

Actually to me it sounds like Tuscola County Jail. I may have had the numbering wrong when I reported it as 79P791 (79: Tuscola Co, P: Police, 79: Sheriff, 1: Channel 1). I'm pretty certain it's the Jail though. |
