Default 81p911

Just noticed that Washtenaw County has become very active on MPSCS. I have had this t/g programmed in for quite some time, but over the past few days it seems like they have flipped the switch and are using it.

Jeff,

I have been listening to it too, it has actually been active for a couple of weeks now. I think with all the problems that the AATRS is having they decided to activate the patch. So when now we can hear dispatch and the cars on 81P911. It is only a patch at this point, and if you listen to the audio you can also tell that it is coming from the analog system..

Yeah, it's been quite active. It was down for quite awhile but recently has come back in the last few weeks.

I'm wondering which system users actually monitor that talkgroup. Because the MSP 26 units all have the AATRS system radios already. Maybe Monroe County or Livingston County monitor it?

Actually Its not monitored by either of them, however when the Blackout occured a few years back they used it then so that MSP could communicate with the county. Then the patch was left on and now we are still hearing the result of the black out. It mostly is for MSP

Correct, the MSP 26 units wanted to be able to monitor 81P911 whenever they leave the range of the current analog system in Washtenaw County. Likewise, the same applies to any radio programmed to this and any other similar talkgroup. Moreover, I believe a few of the jail transport units have 81P911 so they can talk to WC Central Dispatch if necessary, when they are out of the county.
