Question Frequency Steps

Do frequency steps play any mojor role in setting up the MSPCS systems?

Though I couldnt tell ya with a Bearcat, I programed mine with the default. Im currently set at 25.00 kHz steps for the MPSCS. I dont have any problems with tracking.

You don't need to worry about setting the 'step' for any current 800 or 900 MHz systems. Those settings are used mainly for UHF and VHF systems.

When you program a Uniden 296D or 796D scanner for the MPSCS system, it will ask you which plan you want to use. Be sure to choose Plan 2, as that is the all-inclusive step plan. You don't have to program any specific frequency steps other than that.
