Question Software

I saw a post on here with software that showed that logged the transmissions and told you if a frequency was denied and the % of signal and such. What is that called, where can I get it and how much is it?

Thats definately Pro96com and it works great with the 96/2096 but i dont know if it will work with any other scanner. Its a free download. Go to the RR downloads page and look for Pro96Comm. Note it doesnt seem to work with windows ME or below. Works fine with windows XP. And you must have a 2 way interface cable for the PCIF port on your scanner.

Question Tracking software

I have a uniden BC296D handheld scanner, will that software work with that too? Is there a similar software for the Uniden scanners that someone could recommend?

Pro96Com will only work on the Pro96/Pro2096 and is ONLY for 9600(9.6k) systems..

The Pro96 was developed with the ability to send the control channel stream to a PC. The Uniden's are not, so you will never see similar software.

Don't despair! Get the PRO-96, or PRO-2096 to use the logging portion of PRO96COM, then add your Uniden to the second COM port, to monitor the audio of the situation being logged. PRO96COM has provisions for this, and it controls the Uniden scanner via it's serial port.
