I heard a lot of action on 460.500 as the Roseville PD was clearing out Roseville High and I heard the Harper Woods/Grosse Pointes Swat team going through South Lake High on the Eastern Wayne Co. system.

Terror Drill Held At Macomb County Schools

Local and federal authorities tested their capabilities on Thursday in a terrorist exercise at five Macomb County high schools.

L'Anse Creuse was among the high schools taken over by simulated terrorists.

It was interesting to work on this exercise as a RACES observer!! (normally I am net control) RACES was activated, and we had our net on 147.200. not a lot of traffic from the EOC's... but the hospitals were glad we were there.

For those of you monitoring, I would love to hear your comments about the exercise. You can either PM me, or leave the comments in the topic.

First off, get the book "Now You're Talking"... makes a GREAT reference (after 10 years, I still look back) http://www.arrl.org/catalog/lm/

If you are comfortable with electronics, check online, they have the question pools for training and testing (500 questions in the pool, you get about 50) and study them.

Get in touch with the local Amareur Radio group. If you monitor your local repeater, you will hear during a weekly net the date and time of the local meeting (This is how I started) head to the meeting, introduce yourself, and let them know that you are interested in getting your license

If you would like more information, send me an PM, I would be glad to help you
