I have a extra motrola lined up I might make a dedicated feed for a detroit simulcast. What do you guys feel would be a good talkgroup(s) to stream? I dont wanna group all precients toghter - way to confusing. DPD01 is nice for downtown area happenings campus martius / arenas / casinos - but can be a little quiet some times. I pretty sure fire and EMS is covered pretty well right? Any ideas shoot em at me.

We could really use a good clean feed of DPD whatever the main talkgroups that have most of the activity
& other tgids would be interesting as well such as
Michigan National Guard Talkgroups
United States Department of Defense Talkgroups
Federal Government - Law Enforcement Talkgroups
Regional Bio-Defense Network - Homeland Security Talkgroups

LOL Good luck on finding most of those here. I think you should read this. All RR feed broadcasters have to agree to this.....

The feeds can be lawful and still be against the terms of service.

ok i have my first radioreference feed online Detroit Police - Central District Live Scanner Audio Feed please let me know how the audio levels are. Im moving the radios and servers to a more stable location so there may be times they go down.. hope to have everything gravy soon. I am having a hard time as the audio levels vary widely depending on who is talking. Running em a little hot. I have 3 more that will be up in the week or 2 just waiting for the hardware.. I am thinking DPD03 Northeastern Dispatch will be next as my friend is on duty there. After that im thinking installing more in this order..
DPD04 Northwestern District Dispatch
DPD07 Eastern District Dispatch
DPD02 Southwestern District Dispatch
DPD06 Western District Dispatch
DPD05 (trac5?) is prob ok, but what do you guys think about grouping all these into 1 ? i dont know if any of these violate the feed terms of service or not..
DPD05 Citywide Special Events Law Tac
DPD08 Homicide Division Law Tac
DPD09 Evidence Technicians Law Tac
DPD10 Gaming Division (Casinos) Law Talk
DPD11 Command (Taskforce Base) Law Tac
DPD12 Command Law Tac
DPD13 Traffic Enforcement Law Talk
DPD14 Gang Taskforce Units

Yes while some lawful feeds may be against RR's TOS we have the ability to feed without RR for other feeds if need be.... These new DPD feeds are first sent to the moses.bz audio cluster then RR relays... So if it ever became an issue one could just listen direct....

I have a couple of Detroit questions, but rather than start a whole new thread, I thought I'd resurrect this one.
First. In the RR database there are a number of 453.xxx frequencies listed for Detroit PD with "Future Use" noted. Does anyone know if, when, and for what they might actually be used? From the listings, it appears that they will be regular dispatch channels, but that doesn't make sense given the trunked system.
Second, which site is best for listening within the city. There is a Wayne County site and a Detroit Fallback site listed on the statewide system. Which is the correct one, or are both used?
Thanks.

Fallback is not in use. You will find the Detroit police on the MPSCS system Wayne County 82 system
Detroit police dispatch.

Look for site # 701 (Usually at the bottom of the list in the database). All Detroit PD traffic will be on that site unless the emergency button is pressed on a radio, or they are working on a statewide channel (Event or otherwise).

Thanks. Will that include all Detroit public safety? Will it include Wayne County and MSP or just Detriot city units?

Everything that operates in the city limits, operates on the Detroit City site. The fall back is exactly that, the fail-safe site, used only if the Detroit City site fails.

These talkgroups are just fine under our TOS agreement with feed providers.

Yes, these talkgroups do violate our live feed terms. These talkgroups are not permitted under our TOS. Only law enforcement Dispatch, and Events (Interop) talkgroups maybe streamed on our site. Car-to-Car and Tactical talkgroups are prohibited.

Ron - DPD05 should qualify.
"Feed providers agree to ONLY broadcast routine dispatch and special events channels and talkgroups for law enforcement agencies."
Citywide Special Events sounds like a special events channel?

Yes, since DPD05 is a citywide special events channel, it would be OK to stream it.

Naw it's just the typical Internet personalities, loud mouth, rude, dumb because they think they can hide behind a keyboard, and are safe living in mommies basement. Yet not one has enough brain cells to consider that people who may not live in scanner range might wish to listen. Some of us who are retired and used to work the streets of detroit still like to listen, but can't because we moved away from the area, to enjoy live.
I hope someone can get the Detroit PD back up eventually if not sooner. As much as I love living in a state forest, hunting and trapping, I miss the radio traffic I grew up with and eventually worked with. Funny how it sticks with a person after so many years. Don't miss the mayhem but do miss the radio. Can't find a way to listen any other way yet, and even with a 200 foot tower I don't think it will happen lol.
I wouldn't get to bothered by the keyboard commandos, eventually mommy will get tired of them and throw them out of the basement
For now I will enjoy Ham radio when I am not out in the woods playing...
Take care.

Why is this feed offline? Where did a feed go? How to get my area added?
Hopefully if you get "hooked" on listening, we can get you involved in owning a real scanner, which will give a lot more listening options (and lets you listen to exactly what you want to hear)- it's a great pastime!
