I have the new system working on my Pro-96. Took me hours of messing with it and re-reading everything but it's working now. This post from ngreed is what works. What I did was:

Put in all the frequencies listed in the database and assign the system as "MOT" and each freq. as Rx mode "MOT" (I'm assuming you already have this since your a premium member).
In Win96 "channels" tab, click on "MOT 9600CC - Multi-table", next click "Extended Tables"
Now you'll see the table with all the frequencies, steps, etc.. already filled in - Delete everything out of there so the entire table is blank. (click on each box and hit delete).
Now enter this in the first row: 0 | 4095 | 806.57500 | 0 | 12.500
Leave the rest of the table blank and hit "ok".
That's all there is, now upload to scanner.

While this works, its not perfect though. there are still some transmissions that come through garbled or computer sounding. I'm not sure why. Perhaps there is a actual correct "extended table" that should be programmed. I'm fairly new at this so I'm hoping someone who actually knows what they are doing will chime in!

p.s. It's also recommended that you upgrade the firmware on your pro-96 to "1.4" see this link:

Yes, it started about a month ago, they switch from city to city.... while they are trying it out.

Funny the new system sounds pretty good to me. All I keep hearing is then *****ing about how their radios aren't working. I guess someone's got some splaning' to do!

Scanning here in Rouge is coming in real bad... broken transmissions from mine and a friends scanner.

Our PD and a friend who is at another PD in the system are not liking the radios. They have been working on the system a lot. We've lost some transmissions as well.

Well today for some reason, The system is null to me. Not sure on how to setup the multi-tables. I am using a BC996xt, I tried to use the table above tht CCT explained, but am using ARCXT PRO. I get lost on the 4095 part. If someone could guide me on how to setup the correct table for it that be great :-)

Hi. I'm not sure about the 4095 part either, I just copied that from what another member here posted and it works. On a multi-table band plan the channel lo/high corresponds to the offset and freq, but from what I have above I don't see why he was limiting the channel high to 4095. Seems like you could just put in whatever the max channel would be.

Now onto your problem...

I have an old Uniden BC796D (still working great), and I programmed that (after a firmware update) for this new downriver system and it works fine. Just from my limited experience, the programming of the pro-96 vs the uniden is totally different, so don't follow the Radioshack/GRE instructions above.

I would say; for your 996XT, program it as P25, put in all the tower frequencies (although you could experiment with control channel only and just use the control frequencies) and use the following custom band plan:

Code:
Band Plan Base Freq (Lower) Base Freq (Upper) Offset Polarity Spacing
1 851.0250MHz 854.0000MHz 440	+ 25 kHz
2 851.0125MHz 868.9875MHz 0	+ 25 kHz
For my BC796D after the firmware update I had to program as type II custom with that band plan.

Awesome!!! Works like a charm now, Thanks!! What was throwing me off was the high/lo channel, Plus I only had 1 base freq, not the 2. ;-)

Well thought I got it but I guess not haha. In ARCXT Pro you can't make a custom table when it is listed as a P25 system, only way is if it is selected as a Motorola then I can go into the band plan. So for giggles I set it to Motorola, then did the band plan as above, but nothing. I did try manually but no go :-( I'll keep cracking around it here and see if I can figure it out

Found new TG 3227 - I think it is Trenton Fire Dispatch.

TG 4024 is a district court - trying to figure out which one.

Has anyone been able to figure out the correct band plan or how to set this system up in ARC XT Pro, I have a BCD996xt. I can hear the control channel just fine (4 bars) I enter the CC and alternates, but does not trunk it. I have it set to P25, I know their is a custom table that needs to be made, but I don't know how to do it for a P25 system in ARC XT Pro, I guess what I am saying is I need some help please. I have tried the above that was suggested, but it is not working. Not sure if I am doing something wrong.

Try doing it with FreeScan... Then you can always read it back with Arc and see how they show it.

Smile Finally Programmed

I have a Radio Shack Pro-96 scanner. I live in Taylor, and I haven't used my scanner for about a year. Imagine my surprise when I turned it on and got nothing. With the help of all your posts I was able to get it working after a few hours. I would probably still be trying without your help. Every downriver city seems to be coming in good. I get a garbled transmission every once in a while.
The only problem I have is I don't seem to be receiving any of the Taylor municipal frequencies,. I used to receive them. I copied the from the RR database and programmed them in, but nothing. Have they been re-banded too?
Freq - 154.08500
I am using Win96, and I programmed the freq. in bank #9. Rx Mode for all freq is set to FM, and the type is set Conv. I haven't changed anything else. I left MOT 3600 and MOT 9600 in Normal. I am probably missing something simple.
Thanks again for your help. If this is posted in the wrong area, let me know, and I will move it.

The Taylor DPW on 154.085 MHz, uses Motorola's proprietary DMR MOTOTRBO digital radios. Sadly, there is no scanner currently manufactured that can decode this format. Hopefully, this will change in the future.

I've recently become a premium member. I used my ARC-XT software to program this system directly off RR into my BCD-396XT.

It looks as though the scanner sees the control channel but stops there. It never goes off to listen to one of the many programmed TGs. If I change the system from P25 Standard to P25 One Freq Trunk, put all the different frequencies in, and Hold on a specific TG, it will pick it up and soon as someone keys up on that TG.

This is the only way I can hear anything. It seems as though when in P25 Standard System, the scanner doesn't know how to be directed to the correct freq by the control channel.

Is there something I'm missing? updating the bandplan didn't do anything. Its a brand new scanner so the firmware was already updated to the latest version.

Thanks in advance!
