They are doing it one county per day, roughly. They will be scheduling a date & a location in each county that is in close proximity to the largest concentration of MPSCS radios in that county. The techs will show up, the agencies bring their radios, get rebanded, & the techs will move on to the next county. At least that's how it's supposed to go. In theory. Note the disclaimer; "These are estimated dates". They'll have a better idea once they get going, & those dates may tend to "slip" a little.

Since rebanding doesn't really matter to anyone, they just need to use the new CCs once they start, is there even a need for another thread?

You are correct, but a sticky would be helpful for many casual users to know when a county actually switches and what the new CC's (control channel frequencies) are for a particular tower. A real simple chart such as:

County - Tower - Date - New CC's

or something similar.

Just a suggestion . . .. .

I Second the Motion

Also, don't forget that it's not just the MPSCS frequencies that are changing; all the NPSPAC channels will be changing from I-CALL/I-TAC 1-4 to 8CALL90/8TAC91-94. I realize that they are not used often, but most listeners would have mutual aid channels programmed & would like to know when their area switches over. I'm sure there will be radio traffic to the effect of: "Bring your radio in to be reprogrammed...".

If it means anything, I vote in favor of this being a sticky, albeit a short-term one.

Any rumblings of rebanding yet? I know per the last news letter-
Radio Rebanding is now scheduled to start in the
Ingham, Eaton, Clinton county area about August 22,
and after this initial trial move out to the rest of Area
#1.

Nothing has been changed as of yet in the DB.

It began last week, they tweeted out some pictures of MDOT trucks getting touched. They probably aren't going to enable the new CCs until everyone is up.
