Default City of Flint narrow-banding and/or their MPSCS migration....

December 31st is getting very close! Does anyone have current information on this topic?

I've been regularly monitoring the Flint Fire Dispatch(12918) and the LEIN(12983) channels. But I haven't heard a peep from the Police Dispatch(12981) channel. Has anyone monitored the PD Dispatch channel?

Aha! Did some more monitoring today. Flint PD Dispatch is still on 2415, but it is a digital signal, not a patch from the old analog system. 12981 has no traffic on it yet.

12981 is patched with 2415 still yes.. but if you scanner is an older one it doesn't follow the patch correctly.. IE.. pro-2096/96 scanners won't so you have to program both talkgroups in... the newer 106 and others will follow patches correctly.. So there is traffic on 12981...

Dumb question but since im up in Bay City I may not be able to get them here. I'll have to most likely put in Saginaws CC frequency. Anyways Flint is using the Genesee system correct?

Correct. If you can hear those CCs, you can hear Flint.

Speaking over - life will be much gooder for those listening to Genessee Co with a HP1 or 396XT in the next week or so. (And Lapeer / Detroit / Monroe as well...)

You talking about the rebanding, Rob? Those systems will be easier to monitor?

The reply as stated isnt clear as I stated about having to tune in the Saginaw tower to get genesee I felt the way the reply is that yes if I tune in saginaw or yes if I tune in the below freqs.

Again though they're using 868.3875 / 868.8875 are the cc and alternate - the same used for genesee county?

Those are the frequencies in Flint. You a probably too far to get them. They are not used in the Saginaw MPSCS system so that's where I am losing you. I don't get what you are asking.

So they(Flint PD and Flint FD) have both moved to the MPSCS, are they still dispatched by their own PSAP or have they combined PSAP's too?

I have a Pro 96. It only follows the Gen. Co. system correctly when it close to a Gen. Co. tower, such as in Davison, where it has logged Flint Fire dispatch correctly on their new system using Gen. Co. control frequency. South of town where I live I have logged FFD on their new system, but the Pro 96 just won't process Gen.Co. control frequency correctly and is very broken. That is why (for 8 years) I have been following Gen. Co. on the Holly & Columbiaville MPSCS towers, and now the latter tower operation appears to have been dropped from MPSCS? On the Holly tower I continue to receive FPD 911 on id: 2415, as well as most of the Genesee county system users. Are any of the other City of Flint operations simulcast on the Holly MPSCS system, or will they be? Or, will I need to purchase a new scanner capable of following Genesee Co. correctly, if Flint will not be simulcast on MPSCS? Thanks for any knowledgeable advice from anyone on this.
