Default Wayne County Christmas/Santa BOL

I wonder if Wayne County will broadcast their annual Christmas BOL at 00:00 hours tonight? I always listen to Intercity/Point-to-Point frequency of 155.370 MHz., as its always interesting to see what other departments acknowledge the broadcast.

Berrien County have done it, in the past, at 12:01 am on December 25.

I don't know if Berrien Coutny still does it, since they went to MPSC Radio System.

I heard it tonight over the TRS Sheriff talkgroup, probably also simulcasted on the Airport Dispatch talkgroup.

Very entertaining.

Wayne County "Central" did it on Intercity....not many people responded though...i think dearborn heights, dearborn, garden city, and maybe livonia acknowledged the BOL.

It was kinda funny to listen to...they gave a pretty good description of the old bird.

Wayne County simulcasted it over 800 MHz and a Intercity, but I forgot to check MEPSS (155.865) to see if they were also on that frequency. Nonetheless, a few years ago, Santa was wanted for B&E, but more recently he was wanted for "Home Invasion." At least they keep up with the times.

The first department I heard acknowledge the BOL was Livingston Central Dispatch, followed by many other departments around the area. I also noticed that Wayne County's signal on 155.370 is not as strong as it use to be in the past. In the past, they have been known to carry a signal for over 125 miles on that freq. However, lately the signal only covers the local area.

Isn't 155.370 a statewide or nationalwide frequency? I notice sometimes I hear Elkhart Indiana on this channel and then I don't hear them for weeks and weeks!

Yeah, it's known as "Intercity" or "Point-to-Point". I hear Elkhart from time to time, and I could swear I've heard St. Joe county, Indiana on it also.

I have heard St. Joseph County, Indiana on "Point-to-Point" just last week. They calling Cass County, Michigan about a warrant pickup. Apparently, they caught a suspect with a few felony warrants and he was willing to waive extradition back to Indiana.

So they still use 155.370 MHz, but not like they use to.
